Capelle aan den IJssel (population: 65,354 in 2004) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 15.42 kmē (of which 1.13 kmē water). It is connected to the east side of Rotterdam and situated on the Hollandse IJssel river.
